Full description

Find out everything about DeviceTrail

DeviceTrail is a private Android event log for people who want to see a clear, local timeline of their device activity.

The application tracks application opens, unlocks, network changes, package updates, power events, and other events made available by authorized Android APIs. Logs are stored locally and can be searched, filtered, exported or reopened in CSV and JSON formats.

Tools available

  • Simple timeline to quickly read activity
  • Advanced log with details of system and application events
  • Network information such as local IP address, DNS, routes, interface, proxy and private DNS when provided by Android
  • Quick search and filters by event type
  • CSV or JSON import and export
  • Foreground service for policy-compliant background monitoring Android
  • Local operation without cloud account or internet permission

Privacy and Limitations Android

DeviceTrail only uses APIs authorized by Android. Access to usage data is required to detect the app displayed in the foreground. Android does not allow a regular application to view browser page URLs, browsing history, file contents, or any remote network destinations of each application.

Logs remain on the device unless you choose to export them. DeviceTrail can be used for diagnosis, personal auditing, application testing and troubleshooting without tracking in the cloud.
